MSDS

Medical oxygen gas cylinders are designed to contain high-purity oxygen specifically for medical purposes. They are used in various healthcare settings for medical analysis and treatments intended for use in the human body. The cylinders are strictly dedicated to oxygen gas and do not permit the presence of any other gases to prevent contamination. There are specific requirements and regulations in place for medical oxygen, including the need for a prescription to obtain or order it.

Medical oxygen gas cylinders serve the following purposes:

1. Breathing at medical facilities: They are used in emergency hospitals, clinics, and even at home for oxygen therapies and respiratory support.

2. Anesthesia and medical aid revival: Medical oxygen is employed during anesthesia procedures and resuscitation efforts in emergency situations.

3. Life support: It provides life-sustaining oxygen for patients who are unable to breathe on their own, as well as for oxygen therapy purposes.

4. Scuba diving: Oxygen cylinders are used in scuba diving equipment, both in open circuit demand systems and rebreathers.

5. Mountain climbing: Oxygen cylinders are utilized by climbers at high altitudes where oxygen levels are low.

6. Artificial ventilation: Oxygen is crucial for providing life support to patients who require mechanical ventilation.

7. Cardiovascular stability: Medical oxygen can help stabilize patients with cardiovascular conditions.

In medical facilities, oxygen is typically delivered in bulk in liquid form. Portable non-cryogenic air separation units are commonly used for home care purposes. In remote areas or smaller hospitals where the delivery of liquid oxygen is expensive and the demand is high, larger units of non-cryogenic air separation systems are employed. These units typically produce oxygen with a purity of up to 93%.

It is important to adhere to the prescribed guidelines and regulations surrounding the use and handling of medical oxygen to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
